How to Configure Google Adsense in WordPress Website

In this article I’m gonna show you how to add Google Adsense to your WordPress website. In a nutshell Google Adsense is what you use to show ads to your viewers on website, and why would you want to do this?

Well the main reason is because you can make a lot of money  with your website, especially if you’re getting tons of viewers every month because each time someone click on one of those ads on your website you get paid. Okay, so I’m going to show you how to do it right now in just few easy steps.

1. Sign Up with Google Adsense

If you don’t already have a Google Adsense account you can just create it here or you can just go to google.com/adsense/start and then from here we’ll just go ahead and click on get started.

You can only have one per person or one per business Google Adsense account. So, let’s walk through the set up first .

Put your URL of your website after that put your main Email Address and then we’ll scroll down and you can get helpful info from Adsense.

Recommend you to check on customized and performance suggestions because google will send you some really awesome tips for putting ads on your website and hopefully increase the amount of money that you can make and then just go ahead and click continue.

Once you get your account set up then we can go ahead and sign in. So again back to main google page where we gonna go ahead and click on sign in. Now we are at the dashboard of our Google Adsense.

2. Create a New Ad Unit

To do this just go on over to ads, over here in the left hand menu and then just click on By Ad Unit and then we’re gonna go with Display ads, this is recommended one.

After that you can see an example of a typical ad would look like. Now name your ad unit from the top left corner. Select ad size responsive from the top right corner, that way google will resize to fit any space on your website.

Now Click on Create and now you’ll be needing this code as displayed on your screen, just click on a copy code snippet and save it.

3. Display the Ad on your website

Go over to your wordpress website and login. The simple way to display an ad is to do it in the widget area of the sidebar. Go over to appearance and then go to widgets and then scroll down and select custom HTML, drag that to the top of the sidebar.

Inside the Content window just paste that code, click on save and then just close this window and now you can see that a box will appear in the sidebar of your website.

It will take some time to get the ads displayed on your website, Google needs about an hour so to determine what type of ads it’s going to put on your website. It basically have to read your website and determine what content to serve  so don’t be alarmed if you see a empty space.

4. Automate your Ads

let’s just go up to our dashboard and just go down to plugins, click on add new and them hover over to the search bar on the right and type Adsense Plugin WP quad. You’ll see Adsense plugin in your search results. Click on Install now, then Click activate.

Skip and go to the settings, scroll down where we can assign, where we want ads to show up. Select the required options form these settings and your ads wills start to show on the selected sections. The plugin will do it’s best to show the ads.

Scrolling down, here you can determine the visibility of where you want your ads. Then, you can just skip the rest of these settings and click on save changes.

Now click on Ad Number in the plugin option, then click on ad 1 then you will see a box, here we’re gonna put in that code we copied earlier from our adsense dashboard.

Click on adsense button , then click on copy-paste adsense code enter your adsense code here and then click on get code.

In order to do responsive ads then you’ll need the pro version of WP quad but if you just go to fixed size, you can just type in a square value and that will work perfectly fine and then you can determine where you want it to be aligned in your posts, whether it’s on the left, right or in middle.

Select margins space around the ad, go down and click on save changes. Now, just check out your posts and if you scroll down you can see that you’ve got a blank space in between your posts.

5. You Ads are Live

Again, It will take some time to get the ads displayed on your website, Google needs about an hour or more so to determine what type of ads it’s going to put on your website.

It basically have to read your website and determine what content to serve  so don’t be alarmed if you see a empty space.

(There are also alternate Plugins available, so can check them out as per your preferences, just type google adsense in search box of under the add new plugins menu and select the desired plugin)
